Triumff is set in an alternate Elizabethan era that hasn’t ended, and where magic works, and is a viable power source–so the technology level is considerably lower than in our own comparably currebnt time period.

The hero of the piece is Sir Rupert Triumff, who is a rapier-wielding rapscallionsly rogue.

Of course, it is de rigeur for a story in a setting like this to have a plot against the queen. Where magic works and monstrous beasties lurk, this could be a very bad thing. Especially if it all might boil down to whether a gentleman of uncertain moral fibre proves to be important, no matter the class of his allies.

A fun book (even with Clint Eastwood jokes), which an excellently entertaining ending, and notes, even about Australia.
