The Reality Dysfunction

Space opera horror monster massive tome.

The start of a humongous trilogy, and with so many pages to fill Hamilton is able to come up with all sorts of stuff.

The Confederation is divided basically on religious grounds between those that use organic technologically to actually bond with computers and animals, and those that only use non-organic or electronic technology.

They still work together, but there are tensions.

Against this backdrop we have the invention of a doomsday weapon, interplanetary war, strange alien investigators, royalty, smartarse starship captains, sentient spaceships, the opening of death’s door, nasty cults, wildly varying planets, royalty, and some really good booze.

A vastly entertaining epic, indeed.

The Neutronium Alchemist

Possession organisation spread.

The numbers of those from beyond the grave continue to grow, and a famous gangster is among them, and he puts his ‘organisational’ talents to use, once he calms down a bit.

They also find that they can possess the sentient ships, gaining useful weaponry in the process.

Then there is the serious grudge-carrying escaped scientist and her superweapon.

Space battles and zombies and zombie space battles, if you like, although there is no lack of intelligence after possession, just a lot of desperate conflict going on as people learn about this problem and set out to try and do something about it.

The Naked God

Possessed planet nicking problem means captain’s alien deity quest.

With the propensity for large groups of possessed to take over planets and then piss off with them so no-one can take their bodies back from them becoming a serious problem, the alien Tyrathca may have led them to a solution.

In the past a serious space entity may have helped them out, and this is what our heroes want to try and find to see if it can do the same thing for them, while others try and deal with the crazed cult killers and other problems, and make some discoveries about the origins of the Confederation split into the bargain.
